Als Steve Jobs “sein” neues Wunderwerk während der Keynote am Dienstag aus einem ordinären Hauspostumschlag hervorzauberte, um die Flachheit des neuesten Mitglieds der MacBook-Familie zu demonstrieren, mußte ich (gerade angesichts des sonstigen sehr gekonnten Verpackungsfetischismus in Cupertino) breit grinsen… richtig niedlich.
Während die “Fachpresse” nun heftig über Zehntelmillimetern onaniert und streitet, ob Apple beim MacBook Air vom “flachsten Notebook der Welt” reden darf, interessiert mich mehr, wofür das Teil gut ist. Denn schön genug, um den “Haben-wollen”-Reflex auszulösen, ist es allemal… *leider* ;-)

Das Konzept des neuen Online-First-person Shooters ist klar und einfach. Die Ansage:“New online FPS concept. Buy Ammo. Fight. Make a Killing.”
Kwari is a first-person shooter multiplayer online game, the first game of its kind with participants competing against each other for money. Players fund their accounts up front, buy “ammunition” from Kwari Limited, and are matched against other players of similar strength in groups of 16 to 64. A player who is hit pays to the hitter an amount that was arranged in advance (between 1 eurocent and 1 euro). Players can also earn money by collecting and holding various objects; “The Pill” is the most lucrative one and renders its holder visible to other players through walls. Players pay into a jackpot to be paid out regularly to the pill holder. Strict anonymity of the participants is ensured to avoid the possibility of real-world retaliation.
